03 Dec ‘Tis the Season to Give Back!
It’s getting dramatically colder out, which can be hard on all of us. For our most vulnerable citizens, however, winter can be next to impossible to live through.
Year-round, Browns makes a commitment to giving back to our community. This time of year (as cliché as it may sound) we ensure that we’re expanding and prioritizing these initiatives even more so.
Browns Cleaners’ President, Brian MacGregor says that giving back to the Ottawa community has been an integral part of this business since its inception – over 50 years ago.
“It’s important to our family, it’s important to this business, it’s important for this city,” he says. “As the major cleaner in Ottawa and one that has been active for many decades, we feel a connection and believe we should give back to the community.”
Last week, we discussed with you how we fit into The Ottawa Snowsuit Fund each year as a business – a contribution we’re happy and proud to make in keeping needy kids warm on the playground in these chillier months.
This week, we thought we’d share our second major initiative in the winter months. For years, Browns has been extremely proud to support the Ottawa Mission by collecting gently used winter coats, cleaning them, and delivering them to this vital local Ottawa shelter.
While the Mission does incredibly vital community work for this city (as hundreds rely on their services for on a warm place to sleep, nutritious meals every day, clothing, clean shower facilities, free toiletries, addiction treatment programs, medical and dental care, education support, job training and so much more) they need the support of businesses like ourselves to keep going.
That’s why it’s absolutely critical for us at Browns to help out.
